If you've been following me for a while, you know I've dealt with losing jobs quite a few times. Never due to my own doing, but either organizations losing their funding, companies filing for bankruptcy, or simply new management making staffing changes. It's never easy, sometimes finding work takes time, bills don't stop, life keeps going and moving and sometimes things get difficult.
I've noticed recently, even more so now, than in the past. There have been a number of black women being laid off from their jobs due to racial discrimination, or their work environment simply being too toxic. The purpose of this fund will be to help put some cash in their pockets when hard times arise and they need a little help.
Q: Where will the money from the fund be coming from?
A: A portion of the profits from all items with "Pay The Lady" on them will be taken and placed into the fund
Q: Why is it just for black women?
A: Well, myself as a black woman. I know the difficulty that comes with being a black woman in any space, let alone a workspace. It's not always a walk in the park, especially when it comes to finding new work. Not only does the fact that we're women play a part in employers deciding to hire us and pay us fairly, they take into account our skin color, our hair texture/styles, etc.. Finding decent work sometimes, takes longer than we would like.
Q: How can we be considered for assistance?
A: Email JoiL@YatirClothing.com with the subject "Pay Her Fund" and we'll get back to you
Q: If we would like to donate to the fund, what should we do?
A: If you would like to donate, feel free to purchase any item(s) and leave a note in the note sections stating that it's a donation for the "Pay Her" fund. If you don't want the items purchased, we will be donating them to women in need, and all the proceeds from the items purchased will be added to the fund. Don't worry! We'll send you a receipt for your tax write off :)
